Rumford Hospital provides telephones in patient rooms for the convenience of our guests and their friends and family. 

To place a local call simply dial "9" followed by the seven digit number.

Long distance calls cannot be charged to your room.  To place a collect or third party billing call, dial "80" to speak with a billing operator.

Directory Assistance within Maine or long distance can be reached by dialing "9-411."

For Toll Free numbers, dial "9-1-800" followed by the number.

Your room cannot be dialed directly from outside the hospital.  Anyone wishing to talk to you by phone must call the switchboard at 369-1000.  The switchboard operators will ring the phone in your room.  No calls can be forwarded to patients' rooms after 9pm.

• Patient Financial Services: 1-888-869-3101

• Patient Representative: Dial extension 1140 or 1141.  If there is no answer, leave a message and we will return your call.  From outside the hospital dial 369-1140 or 369-1141.

• Social Work: extension 1137 or 1138.  Please leave a message, if there is no answer.  From outside the hospital dial 369-1137 or 369-1138.

• Special Needs - A telephone device for the deaf (TDD) is available for patient use.  Call 1-800-947-8642.

If you have difficulty placing a call to a party outside the hospital, dial "0" and a hospital operator will assist you.  Please report any telephone problems to the hospital operator or your nurse.
