Welcome to the Special Delivery Family Birthing Center at Rumford Hospital

Rumford Hospital's Special Delivery Family Birthing Center combines the security of new technology with the warmth of a homelike setting where your family can be comfortable. Spacious and attractive rooms provide a private environment where a family can welcome it newest member. Dad or another support person are always welcome to stay too. Special Delivery features state-of-the-art equipment, a labor tub, and a newborn nursery. Should complications arise, Special Delivery has 24 hour cesarean section capability and a direct link to the Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit at CMMC.

A team of six family practice physicians, a nurse midwife and an Obstetrician/Gynecologist are available to help deliver your baby. Together with our specially trained nursing staff we are dedicated to providing your family with the most rewarding birth experience and enjoyable stay here at the Family Birthing Center. We offer a congratulatory dinner, a web-based greeting card and baby picture service, and sibling birthday parties to help you and your family celebrate. Our comprehensive newborn services include breastfeeding support provided by certified lactation counselors.
